The only way to bring peace to the earth is to learn to make our own life peaceful.

Seeker, empty the boat, lighten the load, be free of craving and judgment and hatred, and feel the joy of the way.

Drink deeply. Live in serenity and joy.

Silence is an empty space, space is the home of the awakened mind.

Be a lamp unto yourselves! Work out your liberation with diligence! Fill your mind with compassion!

You are the community now. Be a lamp for yourselves. Be your own refuge. Seek for no other. All things must pass. Strive on diligently. Don’t give up.

At the bottom of things, most people want to be understood and appreciated.

Those who are pure in heart and single in purpose are able to understand the most supreme Way. It is like polishing a mirror, which becomes bright when the dust is removed. Remove your passions, and have no hankering.

Joy comes not through possession or ownership but through a wise and loving heart.

Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle. Happiness never decreases by being shared.

The non-doing of any evil,_x000D_ the performance of what's skillful,_x000D_ the cleansing of one's own mind:_x000D_ this is the teaching of the Awakened.

Thoughtfulness is the way to deathlessness, thoughtlessness the way to death. The thoughtful do not die: the thoughtless are as if dead already.

The wise ones fashioned speech with their thought, sifting it as grain is sifted through a sieve.

A tree is a wonderful living organism which gives shelter, food, warmth and protection to all living things. It even gives shade to those who wield an axe to cut it down

Even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely.
