This aggression will not stand

There is a God and He is good, and his love, while free, has a self imposed cost: We must be good to one another.

We are a nation of communities... a brilliant diversity spread like stars, like a thousand points of light in a broad and peaceful sky.

Every American expects and deserves clean air, and then we act on that belief, then we will set an example for the rest of the world to follow.

I think the major event that shaped my life was being a Naval aviator. I got my commission and wings at 18 years old, and then I went into combat at 19. And I think, as I look back on it, that whole experience probably shaped my life more than any incident, or any event.

It's family, and it's faith, and it's friends, and it's not the glamour of the Presidency, or the wonder of going to receive the Nobel Prize. All those are important, of course. But maybe it's just that I'm 71 years old now. It's family, and it's faith, and it's friends. I would tell them that. Don't forget that. In your brilliance, don't turn your back on your friends. Don't think you're entitled to something, you're smarter than the next guy.

The world can therefore seize the opportunity (the Persian Gulf crisis) to fulfill the long held promise of a New World Order where diverse nations are drawn together in common cause to achieve the universal aspirations of mankind.

The Congress will push me to raise taxes, and I'll say no, and they'll push, and I'll say no, and they'll push again and I'll say to them, read my lips, no new taxes.

My vision of a 'new world order' foresees a United Nations with a revitalized peacekeeping function.

The world also remains a hopeful place. Calls for democracy and human rights are being reborn everywhere, and these calls are an expression of support for the values enshrined in the United Nations Charter. They encourage our hopes for a more stable, more peaceful, more prosperous world.

If the American people knew what we have done, they would string us up from the lamp posts.

Freedom and the power to choose should not be the privilege of wealth. They are the birthright of every American.

It's amazing how many people beat you at golf now that you're no longer president.

Be bold in your caring, and be bold in your dreaming.

Poland should be strong and prosperous and independent and play its proper role as a great nation in the heart of Europe.

I stand for anti-bigotry, anti-Semitism, and anti-racism.

I hope my own children never have to fight a war.

We know what works. Freedom Works. We know what's right. Freedom is right.
