It's amazing what we lose in life by listening to fear, instead of listening to God.

Too often we spend our time in the past or the future. We need to learn to live now - mentally as well as physically and spiritually.

Most of us have hoped and prayed for something to happen a certain way, but it didn't. And when this happened, we had a choice to make: to react with offense toward God or to trust Him anyway.

It's true my father abused me and didn't love and protect me the way he should have, and at times it seemed no one would ever help me and it would never end. But God always had a plan for my life, and He has redeemed me.

When we complain about our current situation, we remain in it; when we praise God in the midst of difficulty, He raises us out of it.

I believe many people feel like God is mad at them. One day I put a post on Facebook that said, 'God is not mad at you.' Within a few hours, we literally had thousands of positive responses from people saying things like, 'That is exactly what I needed to hear today.' Obviously, this is a message we need to hear.

If you refuse to be happy until you have no problems or challenges, you will probably never be happy!

You're so caught up in grumbling, complaining, and seeing what's wrong that you have no energy or time to appreciate what's good.

Don't wait for everything to be perfect before you decide to enjoy your life.

I tell people, and it's the truth, I could sit in my garage for a week and it won't make me a car. And you can sit in church till your bottom is flat and that won't make you a servant of Christ.

Worry is a down payment on a problem you may never have

No matter what you’re going through there's no pit so deep that God can’t reach in and get you out.

One mistake does not have to rule a person's entire life.

Average is very acceptable in our society but I don't think the angels are applauding. If you are determined to be excellent, to not back out of it, you will reap a harvest in your life.

I had lots of hurt and lots of pain, lots of woundedness, bruises, broken heartedness in my life. I was abused sexually by my father, abused mentally, emotionally. My mom didn't know what to do about it, and she was being hurt in the process. So she just didn't deal with it. And I can guarantee you, just because you don't deal with something, that doesn't make it go away.

I may not be where I want to be, but thank God I am not where I used to be.
