Incuriosity is a profound weakness that limits understanding and growth.
Stephen Fry suggests that a lack of curiosity is a significant flaw in human character. Curiosity drives exploration, learning, and the pursuit of knowledge, and to be incurious is to miss out on the richness of life and understanding the world around us.
In practice
In a lecture about the importance of inquiry and education, one might quote this to emphasize the need for curiosity.
I used many times to touch my own chest and feel, under its asthmatic quiver, the engine of the heart and lungs and blood and feel amazed at what I sensed was the enormity of the power I possessed. God never witholds from His child that which His love and wisdom call good. God's refusals are always merciful -- "severe mercies" at times but mercies all the same. God never denies us our hearts desire except to give us something better.
The really good idea is always traceable back quite a long way, often to a not very good idea which sparked off another idea that was only slightly better, which somebody else misunderstood in such a way that they then said something which was really rather interesting.
