In a sermon about overcoming life's challenges, I would quote this to illustrate the importance of faith.
Amusement should be used to do us good “like a medicine”: it must never be used as the food of the man...Many have had all holy thoughts and gracious resolutions stamped out by perpetual trifling. If the circumstances of your life seem well within you’re your control—pray even harder. Whatever you do—pray.
