Feeling important makes one heavy, clumsy and vain. To be a warrior one needs to be light and fluid.

A path is only a path, and there is no affront, to oneself or to others, in dropping it if that is what your heart tells you . . . Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself alone, one question . . . Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't it is of no use.
Interpretation
The quote emphasizes the importance of following one's heart when choosing a path in life.
Carlos Castaneda's quote reflects the philosophical idea that the choices we make in life should resonate with our true selves. It suggests that we must evaluate our paths carefully and honestly, and if a particular path does not bring us fulfillment or joy, we should feel free to abandon it. The essence of this wisdom lies in the acknowledgement that personal happiness and authenticity are paramount.

Only as a warrior can one withstand the path of knowledge. A warrior cannot complain or regret anything. His life is an endless challenge, and challenges cannot possibly be good or bad. Challenges are simply challenges.
It doesn't matter what one reveals or what one keeps to oneself. Everything we do, everything we are, rests on our personal power. If we don't have enough personal power the most magnificent piece of wisdom can be revealed to us and it won't make a damn bit of difference.
Beware of those who weep with realization, for they have realized nothing.
All paths lead nowhere, so it is important to choose a path that has heart.
All paths are the same: they lead nowhere. However, a path without a heart is never enjoyable. On the other hand, a path with heart is easy - it does not make a warrior work at liking it; it makes for a joyful journey; as long as a man follows it, he is one with it.
If we rail and kick against it and grow bitter, we won't change the inevitable; but we will change ourselves. I know. I have tried it. I once refused to accept an inevitable situation with which I was confronted. I played the fool and railed against it, and rebelled. I turned my nights into hells of insomnia. I brought upon myself everything I didn't want. Finally, after a year of self-torture, I had to accept what I knew from the outset I couldn't possible alter.
There will be books written about Harry. Every child in the world will know his name.
Great men cultivate love and only little men cherish a spirit of hatred; assistance given to the weak makes the one who gives it strong; oppression of the unfortunate makes one weak.
Grace is what matters. In anything. Especially life, especially growth, tragedy, pain, love, death. About people, that's what matters. That's a quality I admire very greatly. It keeps you from reaching for the gun too quickly; it keeps you from destroying things too foolishly; it sort of keeps you alive and keeps you open for more understanding.
It's so much easier to know who you are when there aren't a thousand people telling you who they think you are.
When I despair, I remember that all through history the way of truth and love has always won.
