The subtler one's awareness, the more powerfully it can heal.
Deepak ChopraRead
When you begin to meditate on a regular basis, you will start to notice that thoughts and feelings that may have been building up inside of you are gently released and you reach the quiet place that was always there, waiting for you- the place of pure awareness. It is there that you will experience peace, healing, and true rejuvenation.
Interpretation
Meditation helps release pent-up thoughts and feelings, leading to a state of pure awareness and peace.
This quote by Deepak Chopra emphasizes the transformative power of meditation. Regular meditation practice allows individuals to confront and let go of their inner turmoil, leading them to discover a tranquil state of awareness. In this calm space, one can find healing and rejuvenation, suggesting that the journey inward through meditation can profoundly impact one's emotional and spiritual well-being.
In practice
During a wellness retreat, I shared this quote to highlight the benefits of meditation.
The subtler one's awareness, the more powerfully it can heal.
To promote the healing response, you must get past all the grosser levels of the body - cells, tissues, organs and systems -- and arrive at a junction point between mind and matter, the point where consciousness actually starts to have an effect.
It is only because you take your mind to be yourself, and make it dwell on what you are not, that you lose your sense of well-being.
The most creative act you will ever undertake is the act of creating yourself.
According to Vedanta, there are only two symptoms of enlightenment, just two indications that a transformation is taking place within you toward a higher consciousness. The first symptom is that you stop worrying. Things don't bother you anymore. You become light hearted and full of joy. The second symptom is that you encounter more and more meaningful coincidences in your life, more and more synchronicities. And this accelerates to the point where you actually experience the miraculous.
I will practice acceptance. Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur. I will know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. I will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. My acceptance is total and complete. I accept things as they are this moment, not as I wish they were.
In this world of numbness and information overload, the ability to feel, my boy, is a rare gift indeed.
Zeal without knowledge is fire without light.
It is a disaster that wisdom forbids you to be satisfied with yourself and always sends you away dissatisfied and fearful, whereas stubbornness and foolhardiness fill their hosts with joy and assurance.
The hard discipline, with the exception of one great good point, is fraught with evil. The good point is that men can do one or two things well with very little effort, having practiced them every day through generations.
Anything that is secret and mysterious in this system of Yoga should be at once rejected. The best guide in life is strength. In spirituality, as in all other matters, discard everything that weakens you. Have nothing to do with it. Mystery-mongering weakens the human brain. It has well-nigh destroyed Yoga, one of the grandest of sciences
I don't need a cloak to become invisible.
