There's part of me that is a strict materialist..

I've never made the separation between, say, the museum and the hardware store. I mean, I enjoy both of them, and I want to combine the two..

There seemed a gulf impassable between them..

There is always someone worse off than yourself..

Life is your art. An open, aware heart is your camera. A oneness with your world is your film. Your bright eyes and easy smile is your museum..

Exhibition is certainly the safest part of the cinema business, but it's very capital intensive..

I have to admit, I do loooove eggnog..

You don't have to go to New York and you don't have to go to LA or London. Go somewhere cheap. Go somewhere with free art museums and then just go to….

I like L.A., but I shouldn't live there..
