If you learn from defeat, you haven't really lost.
Zig ZiglarRead
Of course motivation is not permanent. But then, neither is bathing; but it is something you should do on a regular basis.
Interpretation
Motivation is temporary and needs to be renewed regularly, just like personal hygiene.
This quote by Zig Ziglar highlights the idea that motivation is not a constant state; it requires regular effort and renewal, similar to the routine of bathing. Just as we need to maintain our cleanliness for our well-being, we must also actively seek motivation to inspire ourselves to achieve our goals and maintain our productivity.
In practice
In a team meeting, you might say, 'Remember, as Zig Ziglar said, motivation is like bathing; we need to keep it fresh regularly to stay productive.'
If you learn from defeat, you haven't really lost.

I made a conscious decision not to tell anyone in my life. Now I tell people - don't tell anyone your idea until you have invested enough of yourself in it that you are not going to turn back. When a person has an idea at that conception moment it is the most vulnerable - one negative comment could knock you off course.
You know from past experiences that whenever you have been driven to the wall, or thought you were, you have extricated yourself in a way which you never would have dreamed possible had you not been put to the test. The trouble is that in your everyday life you don't go deep enough to tap the divine mind within you.
Our motive is not to prove our self-worth, but to live up to our possibilities.
People can fly. Some people fly higher than others, that's all.
There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made.
You might find it necessary to 'snap' out of your mental inertia, moving slowly at first, then increasing your speed, until you gain complete control over your will. Be persistent no matter how slowly you may, at first, have to move. With persistence will come success.
