If I am not good to myself, how can I expect anyone else to be good to me?
Maya AngelouRead
I had to trust life and believe that life loved the person who dared to live it.
Interpretation
Trusting life involves believing in its inherent goodness and support for those who take risks.
This quote by Maya Angelou conveys the idea that embracing life with trust and confidence requires a belief in the positivity and love that life holds for those who are brave enough to engage with it authentically. It suggests that when one dares to live fully, life reciprocates with support and opportunities.
In practice
In a motivational speech about embracing challenges.

I find it interesting that the meanest life, the poorest existence, is attributed to God's will, but as human beings become more affluent, as their living standard and style begin to ascend the material scale, God descends the scale of responsibility at commensurate speed.
The white American man makes the white American woman maybe not superfluous but just a little kind of decoration. Not really important to turning around the wheels of the state. Well the black American woman has never been able to feel that way. No black American man at any time in our history in the United States has been able to feel that he didn't need that black woman right against him, shoulder to shoulder-in that cotton field, on the auction block, in the ghetto, wherever.

I think Clinton, after getting into office and into Washington, was shocked at being bludgeoned. So he spent time trying to be all things to all people - one way guaranteed not to be successful or respected in a lion's den. You can't just play around with all those big cats - you've got to take somebody on.
To rush into explanations is always a sign of weakness.
I think one of life's great milestones is when a person can look back and be almost as thankful for the setbacks as for the victories.
The sleeping fox catches no poultry.
Keep your heart in wonder at the daily miracles of your life.
I sometimes find, and I am sure you know the feeling, that I simply have too many thoughts and memories crammed into my mind. βAt these times, I use the Pensieve. One simply siphons the excess thoughts from oneβs mind, pours them into the basin, and examines them at oneβs leisure. It becomes easier to spot patterns and links, you understand, when they are in this form.
All is not gold that glitters, as we have often been told; and the adage is verified in your place and my favour; but if what happens does not make us richer, we must bid it welcome, if it makes us wiser.
