Time changes everything, yet our perception can make life feel static.
In this quote, Marcel Proust reflects on the paradox of time and perception. While we are aware that everything in life is in constant flux—youth fading, fortunes lost, and fame fleeting—our ability to capture moments in memory creates an illusion of stability and permanence in our experiences, allowing us to contemplate the transient nature of existence without losing the essence of those moments.
