For me, books have always been a way to feel less alone while being alone. Perhaps if I was depressed and isolated, just communicating with these authors through their sentences helped me.

Because of reality television and all these celebrities thinking they can be designers, everyone imagines that they can just become a designer, photographer, or model, but that's not the way things work. People have to go to school, learn their craft, and build a brand - that's the right, healthy way to do things.

The Gospel which we possess was not given to us only to be admired, talked of, and professed - but to be practiced.

I hope children will be happy with the books I've written, and go on to be readers all of their lives.

Studying design has made me a much, much more astute observer of this aspect of business. And I'm working mightily to improve my empathic skills. I've dramatically improved my ability to read facial expressions - and I'm trying to be a better, more attentive listener.

I believe that if we want our children to understand the world beyond their classroom, we must bring the world into their classroom.
