There is a purpose to our lives, even if it is sometimes hidden from us, and even if the biggest turning points and heartbreaks only make sense as we look back, rather than as we are experiencing them. So we might as well live life as if - as the poet Rumi put it - everything is rigged in our favor.
Interpretation
Life has an inherent purpose, which may only become clear through reflection on our experiences.
In this quote, Arianna Huffington suggests that while we may not always understand the purpose of our lives or the reasons behind our hardships and turning points as they happen, looking back often reveals a meaningful narrative. She encourages us to embrace life with the belief that, as poet Rumi suggests, everything ultimately works out for our benefit, urging us to maintain a positive perspective even amidst challenges.

Don't buy society’s definition of success. Because it’s not working for anyone. It’s not working for women, it's not working for men, it's not working for polar bears, it's not working for the cicadas that are apparently about to emerge and swarm us. It’s only truly working for those who make pharmaceuticals for stress, sleeplessness and high blood pressure.
Women need to lead the way to change our culture of burnout - both for their sake and also for the sake of successful men who desperately need a new model of success. And the still-very-macho world of STEM is a great place to start.
Don’t just climb the ladder of success - a ladder that leads, after all, to higher and higher levels of stress and burnout - but chart a new path to success, remaking it in a way that includes not just the conventional metrics of money and power, but a third metric that includes well-being, wisdom, wonder and giving, so that the goal is not just to succeed but to thrive.
We think, mistakenly, that success is the result of the amount of time we put in at work, instead of the quality of time we put in.
Failure is not the opposite of success; it's part of success.
We have more and more ways to communicate, as Thoreau noted, but less and less to say.
Jesus is much more concerned about shaking your foundations, giving you an utterly alternative self image, world image, and God image, and thus reframing your entire reality. Mere inspiration can never do this.
How inappropriate to call this planet Earth when it is quite clearly Ocean.
There is no greater evil for men than the constraint of fortune.
There are no articles any more that dream about the cities of tomorrow.
If you look at history you'll find that no state has been so plagued by its rulers as when power has fallen into the hands of some dabbler in philosophy or literary addict.
